Canadian Tire Corporation has just issued the following statement:

“In an effort to increase productivity and operational efficiency through clean, non-combustive, non-emissive and sustainable technology, Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC) chose hydrogen fuel cell technology to replace lead acid batteries to power forklifts in two Ontario distribution centers.”

“Wajax Equipment, the exclusive dealer for Hyster® products across Canada, will deploy the fuel cells manufactured by Nuvera Fuel Cells and provide comprehensive repair and maintenance services for these clean hydrogen-fueled systems. CTC conducted five years of testing and evaluation on hydrogen fuel cells, and Hyster Company’s expertise in mobile equipment and direct involvement in supporting its sister company, Nuvera, was a contributing factor to the selection of Nuvera’s fuel cell technology.”
