Hydrogen means business in California! To support this vision, the Board of Directors for the California Hydrogen Business Council (CHBC) helps shape the strategic direction of the 80+ member industry organization that supports the commercialization of hydrogen in transportation, stationary power, and materials handling and markets. On Wednesday, open positions on the board were newly filled.
At the elections —conducted at the Southern California Gas offices on December 13, 2016 — the member organization filled six available seats. Gus Block, Director of Marketing and Corporate Development at Nuvera, was among those elected to the CHBC board. Both his nomination and election show the member organizations’ consideration for Gus’s support of the CHBC mission, demonstrated leadership in marketing and communications promoting hydrogen and hydrogen technologies, and commitment to the industry.
Gus Block has secured funding and overseen projects awarded by numerous government agencies, including DOE and national labs, DOD, and the U.S. Postal Service. Many of these projects have been pivotal in moving hydrogen technology forward from laboratories to commercialization. He continues to work with government agencies at federal, state and local levels, act as chair of the Communications and Marketing Committee for the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Association (FCHEA), and serve on the Massachusetts Zero Emissions Vehicle Commission – all representative of the longstanding experience that Nuvera employees bring to the hydrogen industry to broaden a common vision of energy and transportation fueled by zero-emission hydrogen.
