PRESS RELEASE: Billerica, Mass., June 19, 2013 — Nuvera Fuel Cells announced its membership in H2USA, the new U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) program focused on advancing hydrogen infrastructure and fuel cell vehicles (FCVs) across the United States.
The program brings together automakers, government agencies, gas suppliers, and the hydrogen and fuel cell industries to coordinate research and identify cost-effective solutions to deploy infrastructure that can deliver affordable, clean hydrogen fuel in the United States.
In April, Nuvera announced its partnership with Toyota to generate awareness about fuel cell electric vehicles in Massachusetts and across New England. H2USA will allow Nuvera to be an active member of the nationwide effort to prepare the country for the 2015 roll-out of FCVs.
According to David Danielson, Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, “Fuel cell technologies are an important part of an all-of-the-above approach to diversify America’s transportation sector, reduce our dependence on foreign oil and increase our competitiveness in the global market.
